Some 800.8 million manat ($471 million) were allocated to fight the COVID-19 pandemic in Azerbaijan (520.9 million manat or $306.4 million) from the state budget, 279.9 million manat ($164.6 million) from the resources of the Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund) in 2021, AzVision.az reports citing statement in the report of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan for 2021.
In addition, 314.1 million manat ($184.7 million) of the allocated funds were directed to purchase vaccines, 165.8 million manat ($97.5 million) - to pay urgent bonuses to health workers, 132.9 million manat ($78.1 million) - to ensure the operation of modular hospitals, 115.3 million manat ($67.8 million) - to purchase medicines, medical supplies and equipment.
