Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov received Turkish Ambassador to the country Ismayil Alper Coskun, the message of the Defense Ministry’s press service said on Aug. 24.
The sides stressed the importance of holding the joint tactical exercises “TurAz Falcon 2015” with the involvement of the Air Force of the two countries in accordance with the bilateral military cooperation plan.
Furthermore, the sides exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation that continues for the development of the Armed Forces of the two countries, discussing the military and political situation in the region, the importance of the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict for the entire region and other issues.
Zakir Hasanov, noting the importance of arranging mutual visits of Azerbaijani and Turkish military officials and holding joint military drills, said cooperation between the two countries in the military-technical and military education areas continues to develop.
Then, Ambassador Alper Coskun introduced to Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov the newly-appointed military attaché to Azerbaijan Brigadier General Ihsan Başbozkurt.
Congratulating the newly-appointed military attaché, the defense minister wished him success in his future activity aimed at increasing cooperation between the Armed Forces of the two countries.
