According to the Committee, Azerbaijan imported more than 93,700 tons of wheat in January 2022, while in January 2021 – 23,200 tons.
The value of imported wheat amounted to $32.4 million in January 2022 (an increase of more than 4.5 times compared to January 2021).
"Wheat from Kazakhstan accounted for 50.1 percent of imports and from Russia - 49.9 percent. Russia's share in Azerbaijani wheat imports decreased by 37.1 percent in January 2022 compared to January 2021, while Kazakhstan's share increased by 37 percent," the Committee said.
