Azerbaijan hopeful for unbiased investigation of fire in Germany
Azerbaijan is hopeful for an unbiased investigation of the fire that occurred in a refugee camp in Neustadt an der Waldnaab, Bavaria, Germany on August 21. A group of migrants from Azerbaijan also lived there, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesman Hikmat Hajiyev told on Aug. 25.
It is not ruled out that the cause of the fire, as noted officials of Bavaria, is a manifestation of xenophobia and racial discrimination, but we hope the investigation will be objective and compressive, and the perpetrators will be punished under the law, Hajiyev said.

There were 10 citizens of Azerbaijan, 2 – Iran, 2 – Ukraine, 2 – Kosovo, 2 – Armenia and one – Congo in the fire-affected building. An Iranian citizen living in the building first smelled smoke in the living room, then saw the two men ran out. Another man was waiting for them outside the building. No causalities were reported.
