Baku Metro to commission over 10 new stations in five years
Over the next five years, the Baku Metro plans to launch 11 new stations.
As the Baku Metro reported, particularly in the next three years eight new stations will be put into operation and then three more stations.

In particular, five stations will be put into operation in the framework of construction of a new `violet` line . And the remaining six as a continuation of the `green` line, the Baku Metro stressed.

In 2014, it is planned to commission two stations of `violet` line - Avtovokzal and Memar Ajami-2, and in the next two years - three more stations. Also currently as continuation of `green` line , tunnels laying in the direction of the villages of Yeni Guneshli and Kohna Guneshli" is held. In turn, work continues on the construction of the stations in the area of Khatai-Hazi Aslanov.

At present, the length of lines of Baku Metro is 34.6 kilometers. Today, the Baku Metro has two lines. In the future, the number of subway lines will be increased to five, the length will be increased up to 119 kilometers, and the number of stations up to 76.

The Baku Metro has been operating since 1967 and has 23 stations. Earlier, a 20-year program for the development of the Baku Metro was adopted.
