China’s new coronavirus cases set daily record reaching 27,595

China registered 27,595 new coronavirus cases over the past day, which was the highest-ever number during the pandemic, according to National Health Commission data published on Monday, AzVision.az reports citing TASS.

The figure was 15.3% higher than a day earlier and double as much as a week before.

According to a statement from the commission, only 1,184 people had a fever, cough and weakness while the rest exhibited no symptoms. Of all the cases, 86 were in people that arrived from abroad.

While the tally of asymptomatic carriers continues to grow in China, there’s increasingly fewer cases of people that have any symptoms. Shanghai is having the strongest coronavirus outbreak at the moment, compared with other Chinese regions.
