During the trip, the officials visited military units and detachments of "Gubadli" and "Gazakh" border divisions of the SBS Border Guard troops on April 19-21.
The aim of the visit was to monitor the implementation of the instructions of the President of Azerbaijan, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev on creating the necessary infrastructure for the defense and protection of the state border with Armenia after the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.
The officials also discussed measures aimed at organizing reliable protection of the state border and held meetings with border guards serving at the border combat points.
Besides, they emphasized the importance of commissioning 19 new military units and more than 100 border combat points in the liberated territories over the past year.
They also held service meetings with the participation of the command staff of individual border divisions, obtained information about the operational situation and measures taken in the area of service, and gave the necessary instructions and recommendations on further increasing the combat readiness of military units and subunits, ensuring the protection of the state border.
Then, the president’s assistant and the head of the State Border Service observed the exercises held at its field training center.
