“We have contracts and appendices with the consumers, [and] where the tariff is noted,” she said. “The PSRC decided to increase the [electricity] tariff by 7 drams [per cubic meter] as of August 1, and the company submits these appendices to the public customers.”
In the ENA representative’s words, they have nothing to do with the decisions of the Armenian government, and it is the latter that needs to discuss and reach a decision regarding subsidies.
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, during a recent Cabinet meeting, had announced that the government will not subsidize the electricity price hike for Armenia’s large business, whereas a respective decision with regard to the small and medium-sized enterprises is still being discussed.
