We have recorded a rising demand from several European countries for Azerbaijan's energy resources in recent months, said Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev at the opening of the IX Global Baku Forum on “Challenges to the global world order” on June 16.
"We held a meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Board in February 2022 in which we worked on the plan of the future steps. However, the situation in Europe has changed radically which led to the rising need for hydrocarbon resources in Azerbaijan", President Aliyev noted.
President Aliyev highlighted the necessity of meeting Europe's energy needs and increasing gas production adding that Azerbaijan is currently cooperating with the European Commission on this issue.
