 Russian missile attack on Ukraine’s Vinnytsia kills at least 23 civilians

At least 23 civilians were killed as Russia launched a missile attack in the Ukrainian city of Vinnytsia on Thursday, AzVision.az reports citing Ukrainian media.

The Russian military fired Kalibr cruise missiles from a submarine in the Black Sea at downtown Vinnytsia. Two missiles were shot down by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“As of 07:40 p.m., 23 persons were reported killed (including three children); 115 persons requested medical assistance; 64 persons were taken to hospital (including two children); 34 persons were severely injured; five persons are in critical condition; 42 persons went missing,” Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said on Facebook.

A total of 348 rescuers and 42 equipment units from the Ukrainian State Emergency Service are working at the scene.
