Turkish former FM hands powers over to new Turkish FM
Former Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has handed his powers over to new Turkish Foreign Minister Feridun Sinirlioglu, the Anadolu Turkish news agency reported on Aug.31.
On August 28, Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu presented President Recep Tayyip Erdogan with the roster of the interim government. The list, which was approved by Erdogan, will be active until the parliamentary re-election.

Cavusoglu has been the head of the Turkish foreign ministry since December 25, 2013. Feridun Sinirlioglu has been an advisor to the Turkish foreign ministry since August 21, 2009.

The final meeting of Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu with the head of the opposition Republican People`s Party Kemal Kilicdaroglu took place Aug.13 in Turkey.

The opposition Republican People`s Party (CHP) and the Justice and Development Party (AKP) failed to agree on the formation of a coalition government.

Then Turkish prime minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that early parliamentary election will be held in Turkey.

Turkey held parliamentary election June 7, which involved 20 political parties. Over 53 million people cast their votes in the election.

During the parliamentary election, Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party garnered 40.9 percent of the vote, while the Republican People`s Party (CHP) gained 25 percent; aside from that the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) got 16.3 percent, and the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) garnered 13.1 percent of the vote.
