Azerbaijan managed to change the energy map of Europe by diversifying energy supplies to the world market, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said, while delivering a report on "Azerbaijan's role in ensuring energy security" at the plenary session of the 48th International Forum in Cernobbio, Italy, AzVision.az reports.
"Azerbaijan has been Italy's largest oil supplier for many years. As a landlocked country, we needed export pipelines. We built strategic oil pipelines to Turkiye, which is located in the Mediterranean Sea port, and to the Black Sea port of Georgia, and managed to change the energy map of Europe by diversifying the energy supply to the world market," the head of state noted.
