Azerbaijan increases level of associated gas collection
The SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) gas export management conducts a series of works on construction and reconstruction in order to improve the level of selection of associated gas on the onshore fields of Azerbaijan and its transfer to the gas transportation system without losses, the SOCAR company said August 31.

The message said that six compressors (five working and one spare one), each with the gas cooling system, separator and gas metering unit were installed in the transport collector for compression and injection of the low pressure associated gas at the full volume, transformer substation, the system of external power supply, operator room, water and domestic sewage systems were built on the area of the Garabagli field, which is being developed by the Salyan Oil company. These measures made it possible to collect and inject the associated gas in the amount of 50,000 cubic meters per day into the transport system.

“Also, a new compressor station consisting of two modern rigs of German production with a capacity of 50,000 cubic meters per day each for the transmission of associated gas was built by the Balakhani Operating Company in place of the outdated one,” said the message. “Separator for gas purification from impurities was installed on inlet and outlet of the compressors. The station is equipped with the most modern system of power and instrumentation.”

“Currently, a drainage system and a cooling system are being installed here, measures are being taken for protection against corrosion,” said the message. “The object, the construction of which will be completed in October 2015, will make it possible to inject up to 50,000 cubic meters of gas daily into the transport system.”

In addition it is planned to replace obsolete units of gas metering, construct a rig for purification of associated gas from the liquid and solid dash, pressure regulator and odorization rig, other equipment on the contract area of the Karasu operating company.

SOCAR includes Azneft (companies producing oil and gas on land and sea), Azerkimya (chemical industry) and Azerigas (gas distribution) production associations.

In addition, the state oil company has a number of processing and service enterprises, as well as institutions involved in geophysical and drilling operations.
