Azerbaijan discloses main priority areas of state budget for 2023

The restoration of the liberated Azerbaijani territories, the creation of conditions for the return of citizens to their native lands and the increase in employment opportunities in these territories are among the main priorities in the state budget for 2023, Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov said on Thursday, AzVision.az reports. 

He made the remark during discussions of the state budget for 2023 at the joint meeting of the Committee for Public Associations and Religious Entities, the Committee of Science and Education, the Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, the Committee of Healthcare and the Committee of Culture.

In addition, Sharifov noted that the main priorities are to increase defense capability and protect the security of the country's borders.

"These areas will prevail in the medium-term plans," he said.

The draft law "On the state budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2023" was submitted to the Azerbaijani Parliament (Milli Majlis) on October 24.

The revenues to the state budget for 2023 are forecasted the amount to 30.7 billion manat ($18 billion), which is 5.2 percent more than in 2022, and 16.4 percent more than in 2021, which is the highest indicator in the entire history of the country.
