SOCAR reaffirms commitment to investment project in Malta
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has reaffirmed its commitment to the project for constructing a gas-fired power plant in Malta.

The remarks were made during the meeting of SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev with Malta’s Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi, Maltese media reported Sept.7.

The sides discussed the implementation of SOCAR’s investment project in Malta and noted that it is going on schedule, said the report.

Furthermore, they touched upon the issues of expanding the investment cooperation and developing the potential of bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sphere.

SOCAR is the sole producer of oil products in Azerbaijan. It has two oil refineries and filling stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Romania and Switzerland. The company is the co-owner of the largest Turkish petrochemical complex, Petkim, and other assets in Turkey.
