There seems to be no positive trends to stabilize the Middle East and re-establish peace.
President Ilham Aliyev made the remarks at Tuesday’s meeting dedicated to economic issues and works on preparing 2016 state budget.
The head of state said that the stability, development, and normal life are going on in Azerbaijan.
"We have protected our country from these plagues, we have chopped off the dirty hands outstretching to us. We will continue to protect our country and ensure steady development,” said the president.
President Ilham Aliyev said that during this period the oil price has dropped sharply.
"Experts and analysts are supposed to look for its causes. But it is not ruled out that the dramatic drop in oil prices may have been politically motivated. However, we still had to be prepared for this situation too. Diversification of economy and the non-oil sector have so far helped us get out of the situation with minimal losses. Although the revenues have decreased to a great extent. Last year, the oil price was above $100, and now it’s below $50. Oil prices have fallen by more than twice. But we are trying and will try to make sure the Azerbaijani people do not suffer from it. All social programs and social infrastructure projects are being implemented, and people’s security and social protection are insured,” said the president.
