According to Article 10.2 of the Family Code, if there are valid reasons, for those wishing to marry who have not reached the age of marriage, the age of marriage may be reduced by no more than 1 year. The report proposes to legislatively clarify the meaning of the term “valid reasons” used in this article.
According to the Family Code, the age of marriage in the Republic of Azerbaijan is set at 18 years.
