SOCAR starts drilling new well in Caspian Sea
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has started drilling a new well in the shallow part of the Guneshli field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, the company told Trend on Wednesday.

According to the report, the well is drilled to a retinue of Pereriv. Drilling is being carried out by Socar-AQŞ LLC.

According to the report, a projected depth of the well at the Gunashli-13 platform constitutes 3450 metres. According to the forecast, the well will produce 100 tons of oil per day.
Operational work at the well will be carried out by the Oil and Gas Management on 28 May.
Guneshli field`s deep-water section is in the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli oil and gas fields and is being developed by SOCAR jointly with foreign companies.

SOCAR includes Azneft (onshore and offshore oil and gas production), Azerkimya (chemical industry) and Azerigas (gas distribution) production associations, as well as a number of processing enterprises, service enterprises and institutions engaged in geophysical and drilling operations.
