“Azerbaijani Embassy in Saudi Arabia is investigating whether there were Azerbaijanis among the injured persons in Mecca or not”, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev told.
He said the embassy is keeping contact with the state bodies of Saudi Arabia.
On September 11, a lifting crane turned over in Kaaba, and destroyed the nearby building. As a result, at least 107 people were killed, 238 - injured.
