The US Embassy in Azerbaijan has hosted an event to mark the 247th anniversary of the US Declaration of Independence.
The national anthems of Azerbaijan and the United States were played.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chargé d'Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan Hugo Guevara noted that cooperation between the United States and Azerbaijan had expanded and diversified over past 30 years. Touching on American-Azerbaijani relations, he emphasized that this cooperation continues today in various directions.
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov noted that last year marked the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and the USA.
“We believe that the United States of America share and will support the efforts of the Azerbaijani state aimed at establishing long-term peace and security in the South Caucasus region, reconstruction and reintegration of the liberated territories of Azerbaijan into the economy of the country, and also at ensuring the great return to our historical lands,” the minister emphasized.
The event was attended by officials, deputies of the Milli Majlis, ambassadors of foreign countries to Azerbaijan and representatives of international organizations.
