Ukraine launches construction of Bayraktar drone manufacturing plant

The construction of the enterprise for the production of drones Bayraktar by Turkish aircraft manufacturing company Baykar has started in Ukraine.

Ukraine’s arms industry minister, Oleksandr Kamyshin, made the announcement, AzVision.az reports citing Ukrainian media.

"If we talk about the Bayraktar plant, about which there have been talks in Ukraine for a couple of years, construction works have started on this plant. There were negotiations on it, then there were stops and scandals. This plant has started to be built in practice, not only on memorandums", Oleksandr Kamyshyn said on the air of the TV channel "Rada".

On July 8, Türkiye and Ukraine signed a memorandum on the development of joint production of drones. The CEO of the Turkish company Baykar, Haluk Bayraktar, said that the company expects to start producing the Bayraktar TB2 and Bayraktar Akinci drones in Ukraine in 2025.
