Foreign journalists briefed on severe consequences of Armenia’s deportation and occupation policy

Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Work with Diaspora Rovshan Rzayev has met with a group of journalists operating in the US and accredited to the UN headquarters, AzVision.az reports. 

Rovshan Rzayev informed the journalists about the issue of refugees and internally displaced persons in Azerbaijan, including its causes. He also highlighted severe consequences of Armenia’s deportation and occupation policy, the situation emerged following the 44-day Patriotic War as well as the work done within the Great Return program.

Rzayev said that addressing the issues of IDPs is defined as one of the top priority issues of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s social policy, adding that First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva also pays special attention to the issues of IDPs.

The main goal of the foreign journalists’ visit to the country is to convey the truth about Armenia’s atrocities committed in the ancestral Azerbaijani lands, the ongoing reconstruction and restoration process carried out in the liberated territories as well as post-conflict situation in the region to the world community.

As part of their trip, the foreign journalists also visited the liberated Azerbaijan’s Fuzuli and Zangilan districts and familiarized themselves with the ongoing restoration and reconstruction processes there.
