Hamburg Azerbaijanis appeal to international community over Armenia

The Azerbaijani community living in the German city of Hamburg strongly condemned the large-scale military provocations and terrorist attacks committed by the Armenian armed forces in the Karabakh economic region of Azerbaijan, the State Committee on Work with Diaspora told reporters.

It was noted that the statement addressed to international organizations on behalf of the German-Azerbaijan Friendship Bridge says that the news of the death of 2 Azerbaijani civilians and 4 police officers as a result of provocation and terrorist act committed in the territory of the Khojavand district, which is under the temporary control of Russian peacekeepers, deeply saddened the citizens of Hamburg of Azerbaijani origin.

"The total number of landmine victims since the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020 has reached 314, of which 61 have died. Armenia's behavior contrary to the Tripartite Statement dated November 10, 2020, and international law endangers the lives of Azerbaijani civilians and military personnel," the statement said.

Expressing its support for Azerbaijan, the German-Azerbaijani Friendship Bridge called on the international community to put strong pressure on Armenia and take decisive steps for the sake of achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.
