The Hudson Institute in the USA has organized an online discussion of the recent situation in Karabakh. The discussion was held by Michael Doran, Director of the Centre for Peace and Security in the Middle East at the Hudson Institute, Luke Coffey, senior fellow at the institute and Elchin Amirbayov, special representative of the President of Azerbaijan for special assignments.
Elchin Amirbayov noted that Azerbaijan is ready for dialogue with the Armenian population of Karabakh. The separatist regime in Karabakh has ceased to exist. The roads have reopened, without any stumbling stones for dialogue. The Azerbaijani government has already launched the necessary steps for the reintegration of the Armenian population in Karabakh.
The special representative of the President mentioned relations with Armenia and emphasized that peace talks must be resumed: ‘We must imminently renew peace talks, discussions on border delimitation and restoration of communications. These are the three main directions of the peace process, and they have great prospects, he noted.
