Romania, Albania make serious step in fair assessment of Armenian aggression
The appeal of the Romanian and Albanian FMs for the immediate withdrawal of the Armenian occupying forces from the territory of Azerbaijan is a serious step towards the fair assessment of the situation in the region, especially the occupation of Azerbaijani lands.

The statement came from spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev.

He said the countries of the world today start to express their fair position on the issues that significantly hamper the development and integration of the South Caucasus region. Nagorno Karabakh conflict is the main obstacle to such a development.

The ministers of Romania and Albania Titus Korletsean and Ditmir Bushati in September and October , respectively officially declared their support for the settlement of the Armenian- Azerbaijani Nagorno -Karabakh conflict by peaceful means within the framework of international law and the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, as well as called for the immediate release of occupied territory.

"The fact that Romania and Albania openly express their position on the conflict proves that a new era begins in the individual political and legal assessment of what is happening in the region", Elman Abdullayev said.

He noted that the ministers of the two countries in their statements rely on the decisions of UN Security Council and the European Parliament which they are members of.

"Over the past three years the European Parliament has adopted three resolutions that condemn the actions of Armenia, recognizes their aggressiveness and encourages the Armenian leadership to stop the expulsion of the regular army to Nagorno- Karabakh", Elman Abdullayev said , referring to the European Parliament`s resolutions of May of 2010, April 2012 and October 2013.

According to him, Armenia should be ready for an objective assessment of its aggression on the part of the international community.

"Though the Armenian side, with the support of its lobby abroad is trying to distort the truth, the truth remains the truth and it will find a fair assessment”, he said expecting the wave of adoption of the relevant statements, as it was the case with the resolution on Khojaly.

"I`m sure this is just the beginning , justice will prevail - Armenia will not only be considered the aggressor, but will be required to give a full account to the international community about the atrocities committed by its leadership against humanity, especially against the Azerbaijani people", Abdullayev said.
