SOCAR ready to sell 16% of its shares in DESFA
Talks are underway with two companies in this regard
SOCAR is ready to sell 16 percent of its shares in DESFA, a Greek gas distribution network, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev told reporters on Sept.18.

Abdullayev said the company is currently holding talks with two companies on the matter.

Note that, on September 14, Abdullayev said that SOCAR is determined to privatize 66 percent shares of DESFA.

"We are determined to purchase 66 percent shares, and we do not expect a change in this matter,” he said.

Abdullayev said that the negotiations in this direction will continue with the newly elected government in Greece.

It should be noted that on August 26 a SOCAR delegation met with the presidents of Greece’s State Property Management Foundation (Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund, HRADF) and "Hellenic Petroleum SA" in Athens, Greece.

All parties are interested in SOCAR’s privatization of DESFA.

According to the agreement reached between the parties, the term of the transaction involving the privatization of DESFA by SOCAR has been extended until 21 December of this year.
