`If borders are opened, influx of refugees to Azerbaijan will be like the one to Europe`
If borders are opened, the influx of refugees from Armenia to Azerbaijan will be like the one to Europe, the head of the Intra-national Liberation Movement Vahan Martirosyan, who earlier asked Azerbaijan for political asylum, said at a press conference in Baku on Sept.18.

Armenians know very little about Azerbaijan and Baku, Martirosyan said. “However, the older generation is well aware of Azerbaijan. They visited and had a rest here,” he noted.

Martirosyan also touched upon the issue regarding the Gevorkyan family which lived in Azerbaijan for several years, and gave false information about Azerbaijan after returning to Armenia. “It was deliberately organized by the National Security Council.”

Athletes coming to Azerbaijan to take part in the European Games were walking in Baku in clothes having Armenian flag on them. However, after returning to Armenia they said that they feared to go out. All of these are acts of the National Security Council,” he added.

The discussions will make it clear whether Martirosyan will stay in Azerbaijan or not.

Vahan Martirosyan, head of the Intra-national Liberation Movement, together with his wife and underage child fled Armenia for Azerbaijan to seek political asylum to protect himself and his family.
