During the meeting, Mazahir Panahov emphasized that the CEC attaches special importance to cooperation with influential international organizations and their various institutions. He noted that the study of international experience made significant contributions to the further improvement of the electoral practice in Azerbaijan and raising it to the current level.
The representatives of the OSCE/ODIHR Needs Assessment Mission inquired about Azerbaijan’s election system and principles of electoral commissions, the work done on verification of the voter lists, as well as the progress of preparations for the snap presidential election of the Republic of Azerbaijan scheduled for February 7, 2024.
Responding the questions from the guests, CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov highlighted the consistent, systematic and intensive steps being taken to ensure high-level, free, fair and transparent elections, informing them about the establishment of polling stations and the organization of voting in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
The parties also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
