European Union Delegation opens “Colours of Europe” exhibition

The European Union (EU) Delegation to Azerbaijan together with the Young European Ambassadors is organizing the second exhibition within the “FantazEU” Cultural Heritage Festival. The exhibition called “Colours of Europe” gives an opportunity to the creative women of Azerbaijan to feature their artworks on the theme of Europe and European values.

Prior to the exhibition, the call was open for the Azerbaijani female artists to present their artworks and priority was given to those who never had their work exhibited.

“This event is not only about art and creativity, it's about empowering women, nurturing skills and creating a more inclusive cultural scene. Art has a unique way of bringing people together and today's exhibition is a perfect example of that. The diverse artworks from Aghsu, Baku, Ganja, Zagatala and Sheki reflect the rich cultural history of Azerbaijan. Cultural cooperation is also important as a part of the strong partnership between the EU and Azerbaijan,” said EU Ambassador Peter Michalko.

The “Colours of Europe” exhibition will be open on 20-24 December from 12.00-18.00 at the Medina Gallery, 14 Firdovsi Str., IcheriSheher. Apart from the exhibitions, live workshops of artists and online city tours from the European cities will be organized.

The Arts Council of Azerbaijan is providing organizational support under a contract financed by the European Union Delegation to Azerbaijan.

The FantazEU Festival which has been organized by the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan in partnership with EU Member States since 2018 aims to promote European cultural diversity in Azerbaijan and build cultural links between the EU and Azerbaijan.
