Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with the Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) Robert Floyd on the sidelines of the 19th Summit of NAM Heads of State and Government in Kampala, Uganda, the Foreign Ministry's press service told AzVision.az.

They discussed potential cooperation between Azerbaijan and CTBTO, particularly within international organizations.

Robert Floyd hailed Azerbaijan`s Chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement and Azerbaijan’s hosting the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that Azerbaijan attaches importance to cooperation with the organization in non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, which poses a big threat to humanity, adding that the country supports the organization`s vision of a nuclear-free world.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov underscored that many member states had been victims of the colonial policy for a long time by a number of states, especially France. The Minister emphasized that France refused to address the consequences of nuclear tests.
