Over 800 hectares cleared in week-long mine action operation in Azerbaijan

The Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) announced today the results of a week-long mine-clearing operation conducted in several districts impacted by the recent conflict.

From February 12th to 18th, teams successfully cleared 886.1 hectares of land and neutralized 33 anti-personnel mines, 46 anti-tank mines, and 525 unexploded ordnances (UXOs).

The operation spanned 13 districts, including Tartar, Aghdara, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Khojaly, Khankendi, Khojavend, Lachin, Shusha, Fuzuli, Gubadli, Jabrayil, and Zangilan. These areas remain heavily contaminated with explosive remnants of war, posing a significant threat to the safety of returning residents and hindering reconstruction efforts.
