Speaker of Azerbaijan`s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has met with Chairman of the Shura Council of the Sultanate of Oman Khalid Bin Hilal Al Maawali, who is in Azerbaijan to participate in the 14th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA).
Sahiba Gafarova highlighted the shared religious and cultural values between the two peoples as a solid basis for the development of relations between the countries.
The speaker of the Milli Majlis stressed the role of parliamentary diplomacy in developing intergovernmental relations.
The parties criticized the prevalence of double standards and Islamophobic trends in the modern world.
Khalid Bin Hilal Al Maawali said that positive political relations existing between Azerbaijan and Oman create favorable opportunities for further improvement of relations in many areas. He shared his views on increasing trade turnover and developing tourism relations, expressing interest in deepening the cooperation between the two parliaments.
