Azerbaijan, World Bank discuss new partnership framework

The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) and the World Bank (WB) recently held talks focusing on the development of a new partnership framework program, CBA Governor Taleh Kazimov reported.

During the meeting, Kazimov and a delegation led by WB Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Antonella Bassani reviewed existing collaborations, ongoing projects, and the key areas of the upcoming Country Partnership Framework (CPF) covering the period 2025-2028.

The discussions also addressed the ongoing technical assistance initiatives jointly implemented by the two institutions.

This meeting follows a series of previous discussions in 2023 between Kazimov and Bassani, which centered on the development of the CPF (originally envisioned for 2024-2028) and potential financing options for new investment projects in the country.

The collaboration between Azerbaijan and the WB extends over three decades. Since 1995, the WB has provided over $500 million in support of 56 private sector development projects, contributing to the creation of around 4,000 jobs.
