Press Conference held ahead of the XI Global Baku Forum

A press conference was held on March 13, 2024, in Baku, Azerbaijan, in connection with the upcoming XI Global Baku Forum titled "Restoration of the Shattered World."

AzVision.az reports that Vaira Vike-Freiberga, co-chair of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center and former President of Latvia, expressed satisfaction at the development achieved in Azerbaijan over the past three years. She linked these advancements to potential solutions for frozen conflicts and reaching agreements in ongoing peace negotiations. Vike-Freiberga also acknowledged Azerbaijan's restoration of territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Ismail Serageldin, co-chair of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, emphasized the forum's scope: "The 11th Global Baku Forum will delve into a wide range of issues beyond war and peace, including climate change, healthcare, pandemics, and new technologies."

Serageldin stressed the importance of global solutions for global problems. He highlighted that the forum will feature world leaders sharing their experiences on various topics.

Former Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev commended Azerbaijan's active participation in fostering solutions to global challenges and for hosting a platform like the Global Baku Forum for such discussions. He echoed Vike-Freiberga's point, acknowledging Azerbaijan's recent success in restoring its territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Building on Plevneliev's remarks, former Serbian President Boris Tadic noted the forum's increasing significance each year, with discussions encompassing ever-more critical issues. He emphasized the growing complexity of the world, highlighting that the forum will address ongoing wars, conflicts, and potential solutions.
