Granting asylum to an Armenian citizen in Azerbaijan is a message to the whole world and at the same time is a response to the recent biased resolution of the European Parliament.
This means that one shouldn’t tell lies about the Azerbaijani people not knowing them.
Chairman of “Azerbaijani Community of Nagorno-Karabakh” Public Union, head of Shusha District Executive Authority Bayram Safarov made the remarks on Tuesday while commenting on head of the Armenian Intra-national Liberation Movement Vahan Martirosyan’s fleeing Armenia and asking Azerbaijan for asylum.
The whole world witnesses Armenian authorities’ harassment against Armenians not related to politics, Safarov said.
The fact that Martirosyan asked Azerbaijan for asylum is an indication of Azerbaijani people’s mentality and culture, the community head added.
Safarov said the statements Vahan Martirosyan made in Baku confirm once again that Armenia is ruled by a criminal regime.
Vahan Emilyevich Martirosyan, head of the Armenian Intra-national Liberation Movement, together with his wife and underage child fled to Azerbaijan to seek political asylum to protect himself and his family.
He has been prosecuted by Armenian state authorities and various officials for the activities of the pro-opposition Intra-national Liberation Movement which he leads.
