  Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye discuss simplification of customs procedures

A meeting of the Trilateral Committee on Customs Issues between the governments of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye was held in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, AzVision.az reports. 

Azerbaijan was represented at the meeting by the chairman of the State Customs Committee, Shahin Baghirov.

During the meeting, discussions were held between the parties regarding the implementation of the agreement on initial information exchange for facilitating transit customs procedures within the framework of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project.

The political, economic and strategic importance of the project was noted, and it was mentioned that it will create additional opportunities for the further increase of regional and international trade volume, the expansion of transit opportunities of all three countries, as well as the simplification of customs procedures.

As a result of the tripartite meeting, the final protocol was signed.
