Erdogan: Over 2,000 PKK terrorists killed
The Turkish president said the warplanes have been pounding PKK targets based on precise coordinates.
“Our intelligence agencies have carried out necessary operations inside and outside [the country], including the Kandil Mountains. The Armed Forces have the coordinates in their hands. They use those coordinates in order not to strike the mountains aimlessly. Terrorist targets – from arms depots to hideouts – are being struck based on coordinates. Apart from the air raids, ground operations are underway too,” he said.
Erdogan noted that a total of more than 2,000 PKK militants, 1,300 of them within the country, have been eliminated.
Regarding his visit to Moscow, the president said he will attend the opening of a newly built mosque.
“An imposing mosque with a capacity of 10,000 people has been built in Moscow. We will hold the opening of this mosque and meet with Mr. Mahmoud Abbas and Mr. Putin. My meeting with Putin will focus on the Syria issue. The news we heard and the statements made are not pleasing. We’re seriously disappointed by it. We are the country that buys the biggest volume of gas from Russia; the mutual trading amounts to 35 billion dollars. Russia is yet to take necessary steps as to the Turkish stream. We are going to discuss all of these,” Erdogan stressed.
