Azerbaijan, World Bank discuss cooperation

The World Bank and the Economy Ministry of Azerbaijan discussed the development of cooperation at a meeting today, AzVision.az reports citing the ministry.

Deputy Minister Samad Bashirli met with Antonio Nucifora, Practice Manager in the Finance, Competitiveness, and Innovation Global Practice at the World Bank Group.

The importance of effective cooperation with the World Bank was noted at the meeting. It was emphasized that the beneficial cooperation between the World Bank and Azerbaijan in further improvement of the investment climate, public-private sector partnership, innovations, development of management technologies and other areas contributes to the achievement of the development goals of the country.

Information was provided on measures implemented towards achieving the socio-economic development priorities and Sustainable Development Goals of Azerbaijan. It was noted that the economic reforms carried out in the country are also supported by international financial institutions, huge projects in which Azerbaijan is a participant play an important role in stimulating sustainable development in the region.

The parties discussed the development of cooperation on trade diversification, green transition, climate, COP29 and other issues.
