Turkish, Syrian leaders expected to meet in Baghdad

The foreign ministries of Iraq, Türkiye and Syria are negotiating to create a favorable atmosphere for a meeting between Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Bashar al-Assad in Baghdad, Al Akhbar said, citing sources in the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, AzVision.az reports.

Sources said that organizational issues could take a long time, and it is impossible to give an approximate date for talks. However, this does not mean "there are any obstacles," the source added.

It is also noted that the meeting between the leaders of Türkiye and Syria may be preceded by a preparatory meeting between representatives of the three countries to agree on the agenda and the most controversial issues.
