President Erdogan advocates swift Azerbaijan-Armenia reconcillation

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed reporters in Washington, D.C., following the NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government.

During the press conference, Erdogan responded to questions regarding the possibility of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia before the year's end, AzVision.az reports citing the Turkish media. 

He underscored that the ultimate decision regarding such matters rests with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan.

Erdogan expressed Türkiye's earnest desire for a comprehensive peace agreement and normalized relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

He noted positive strides observed during his meetings with the Armenian Prime Minister, indicating a willingness from both sides to engage in constructive dialogue.

Moreover, Erdogan highlighted President Aliyev's expressed support for initiatives aimed at fostering reconciliation and stability in the region.

"We are hopeful to witness the achievement of reconciliation between Azerbaijan and Armenia as swiftly as possible," President Erdogan emphasized, reflecting Türkiye's stance on promoting regional stability and peaceful coexistence.
