  Azerbaijan, Slovenia mull prospects for energy cooperation

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov met Bojan Kumer, Slovenian Minister of the Environment, Climate and Energy, who is on a visit to the country, AzVision.az reports. 

During the meeting, the sides discussed the issues on the agenda of bilateral and multilateral energy cooperation between the two countries, including natural gas and renewable energy sources.

They emphasized the importance of the Memorandum of Understanding inked between SOCAR and Geoplin in the field of gas supply in expanding cooperation and contributing to Slovenia’s energy security.

The Slovenian minister provided detailed information about his country’s energy system and energy transition plans.

Minister Parviz Shahbazov highlighted export of renewable energy plans, as well as the industrial-scale green energy projects implemented in Azerbaijan with international partners at the expense of private investments.

The meeting also revolved around the possibilities of expanding existing relations in various areas of energy industry.
