Azerbaijan calls on Serbia to join green energy transportation project

Azerbaijan invited Serbia to join green energy transportation project - “Caspian-Black Sea-European Green Energy Corridor,” the Azerbaijani co-chairman of the Azerbaijan-Serbia Intergovernmental Commission (ISC) Sahil Babayev, said at a press conference following the ISC meeting in Baku, AzVision.az reports.

He noted that this issue was among the topics of bilateral negotiations, and Serbia's participation in the project would be very useful.

During the IGC meeting, Azerbaijani Deputy Energy Minister Kamal Abbasov noted that the work on the project of the “green” energy corridor is going well, and the governments of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, and Hungary have been officially involved in it so far.

“The next meeting on this project will be held in September in Bucharest, and a joint venture will be officially established. The feasibility study of the energy corridor will be finalized by the end of the year,” he said.

The headquarters of the JV will be in Bucharest; it will be established in September 2024.
