Azerbaijan’s Civil Society Monitoring Coalition meets with OSCE/ODIHR Observation Mission representative

Azerbaijan’s Civil Society Monitoring Coalition held meeting Tuesday with Oleksiy Lychkovakh, Election Analyst of the observation mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).

The Civil Society Monitoring Coalition was represented by Ramil Iskandarli, Chairman of the “Legal Analysis and Research” Public Union, Vugar Tofigli, Chairman of the “Promotion of activities Municipalities” Public Union, and Zaur Ibrahimli, Chairman of the “Prioritet” Social Economic Research Center Public Union.

During the meeting, Oleksiy Lychkovakh highlighted the issues of interest to his probe as an analyst of the observation mission.

The members of the coalition noted that the institution would monitor the elections with a total number of 500 observers in 75 district election commissions across the country, including the liberated territories and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, with observers including mainly the NGO members, the volunteers and activists. They further noted that the coalition would issue the interim and final reports on the results of the election also in English, making them more accessible to an international audience.
