Azerbaijani ambassador to Russia wraps up his diplomatic mission

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu spoke about the completion of his long-term diplomatic mission in Moscow in an interview with TASS ahead of Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Baku, AzVision.az reports.

"I worked in Moscow for 18.5 years. That's a lot for the diplomatic service. And at this stage, it would be more correct for me to represent my native Shusha, the residents of the region, in parliament. I really hope that I will be elected, and it will be a great honor to be the first MP after the liberation of Karabakh. I would like to devote the rest of my life - as much as Allah sends - to greater communication with the people and nature of my homeland," Azerbaijani ambassador noted.

In a conversation with TASS, he recalled that his father, the outstanding Soviet and Azerbaijani opera singer Bul-Bul, was born in Shusha, in Karabakh.

"And in recent years, after the liberation of our lands, my fate has again become closely linked with my small homeland. The fact is that the house where my father was born is located there. And on the instructions of the President [of Azerbaijan] Ilham Aliyev, I restored this house, which was destroyed by Armenian vandals. Now there is a house-museum there. I am glad that now many tourists come to Shusha and visit the house-museum of Bul-Bul. Therefore, my decision (to run for deputy) is natural", he said.

"When I visit Shusha, my soul simply relaxes. Crystal clear air, wonderful nature, wonderful people. With my life experience and baggage of administrative and diplomatic work, I can be useful in a new role", the ambassador concluded.
