Starlink is not military system - Musk

Elon Musk said that the Starlink satellite communications service is a "commercial, not a military system" and confirmed that he did not activate it at the request of the Ukrainian authorities in Crimea to attack the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2022, AzVision.az reports.

"We state in our terms of use that Starlink is a commercial system, not a military system. Using Starlink for communications, including military communications, is fine, as is military use of the internet in general, but if we deliberately engage in military action, we will turn Starlink into a military system, and other countries will have every right to shoot down our satellites.", he wrote on his page on the X social network.

Musk also recalled that in 2022 he did not turn on Starlink over Crimea to carry out an attack on the Ukrainian Armed Forces. "Starlink was prohibited from turning on satellites in Crimea because it would violate US sanctions against Russia.

The billionaire has repeatedly spoken out in favor of resolving the conflict in Ukraine through diplomatic means, for which he has been criticized in Kyiv.
