  Azerbaijani, Ukrainian FMs discuss international security issues

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has discussed international security issues with his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha during a phone talk, the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan told reporters.

The parties engaged in a discussion regarding the ongoing cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, along with matters pertaining to regional security.

The Ministry said that Minister Bayramov warmly congratulated his colleague on his appointment as the foreign minister of Ukraine and wished him success in his work. It was noted that the mutual respect and support between the two countries, as well as cooperation based on the norms and principles of international law, are a source of satisfaction.

Sybiha expressed gratitude for the congratulations and voiced hope for further strengthening of the existing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine.

He also expressed thanks for the humanitarian aid provided by Azerbaijan in connection with the security situation around Ukraine, particularly Azerbaijan's support in the restoration and reconstruction of infrastructure in Irpin city and demining activities.

The phone talk also featured an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
