A telephone conversation was held between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel on September 12, 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan told reporters.

According to the information, the telephone conversation discussed issues of cooperation between the two countries, as well as the situation of regional and international security.

“The sides noted the important role of such contacts in the development of existing relations between Azerbaijan and Luxembourg in discussing issues of mutual interest.

Jeyhun Bayramov also gave detailed information to the opposite side about the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, the progress of the process of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the current situation.

Furthermore, it was stressed that the ongoing territorial claims against Azerbaijan in the Armenian legislation, as well as the rapid militarization of this country, are the main factors threatening the sustainable peacebuilding process in the region.

The sides also exchanged views on other bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest during the telephone conversation,” the statement of the ministry reads.
