Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan media forum wraps up in Tashkent

The Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Media Forum titled “In pursuit of truth in the digital age: Combating disinformation” concluded Tuesday in Uzbekistani capital city of Tashkent, featuring a panel discussion on bolstering cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in mass media and communication.

The session was moderated by Marat Aitov, Head of Analysis and Planning Department of the Agency of Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan.

In his remarks, Nodir Tulyaganov, Director of Uzbekistan’s National Television and Radio Company, Dunyo Bo’ylab TV Channel, highlighted close bilateral relations between the two countries. He also underscored the joint projects with Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev, operating in Uzbekistan.

İsmat Sattarov, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Audiovisual Council, underscored the increase of disinformation in the Azerbaijan and Uzbekistani media, urging the two countries to pool their efforts to deal with this challenge.

Other speakers included Nozima Murodova, Vice Rector of Uzbekistan’s University of Journalism and Mass Communications and Nigar Huseynova, Head of International Relations Department of Azerbaijan’s Media Development Agency (MEDIA).

Nigar Huseynova highlighted the great role of Azerbaijan’s Media Development Agency and the Agency of Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan in establishment and development of media cooperation between the two countries.
