Azerbaijan, Poland explore new directions of cooperation

Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with his Polish counterpart Radosław Sikorski on the margins of the high-level week of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Highlighting the significance of the mechanism of political consultations in the development of relations, the sides mentioned that Azerbaijan-Poland relations had broader prospects in political, economic, alternative energy, humanitarian and other fields.

Minister Bayramov noted that the 29th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which Azerbaijan is hosting this year, offers favorable opportunities for new partnerships, and stressed Azerbaijan's interest in cooperating with Poland in this context.

Jeyhun Bayramov provided a detailed update on the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He also emphasized the necessity of constitutional changes in Armenia to successfully finalize the peace treaty.

The meeting also covered new directions of cooperation and other topics of mutual interest.
