Azerbaijan's gas production increases

Azerbaijan produced 37 billion 117.9 million cubic meters of natural gas from January to September 2024, marking a 3.4% increase compared to the same period last year.

Notably, marketable gas production during this timeframe rose by 5.2%, totalling 28 billion 255.1 million cubic meters, AzVision.az reports citing data from the State Statistics Committee.

In September alone, the volume of marketable gas produced reached 4 billion 87.5 million cubic meters, reflecting a significant 10.4% increase from September 2023.

In 2023, Azerbaijan's total gas production rose by 3.8%, reaching 48 billion 496.7 million cubic meters, while marketable gas production increased by 4.2% to 36 billion 413.8 million cubic meters. The Ministry of Energy projects that gas production will surpass 49 billion cubic meters in 2024, with marketable gas estimated at around 37 billion cubic meters.

On the oil front, Azerbaijan produced 21 million 668.8 thousand tons of crude oil, including gas condensate, during the same period, which is a 4.1% decrease compared to last year. The production of commercial oil also fell by 4%, totalling 21 million 623.2 thousand tons. In September, the extracted oil volume was 2.365 million tons, slightly down by 0.4% from September 2023.

In 2023, total oil production, including gas condensate, stood at 30 million 189.6 thousand tons, representing a decline of 7.5%. The Azerbaijani government anticipates oil production with condensate to remain at approximately 30 million tons in 2024.
